PUFD 3230 Fashion Materiality: Clothing Repair

This class will focus on different traditions. practices and techniques of repair of clothes and textiles. Students will be introduced to historical and cultural traditions and contexts in which repair and repurpose of clothes and textiles has been practiced for a variety of reasons and purposes, such as scarcity, conservation, tradition and aesthetics. Students will not only study these traditions and practices but integrate them in their work and apply them to their dress.
